Responsibilities

Main Roles and Responsibilities of Position:

  • Responsible for daily investigation and root cause analysis of paint related defects on production parts.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily logging of defects analyzed using supplied log sheet.
  • Production Technician is the main liaison for communication with the paintline cleaning contractor and is responsible for developing and maintaining cleaning scopes, scheduling of specialized cleaning activities, and responsible for weekly cleaning buyoffs to ensure cleaning has been performed to REHAU specifications
  • Support process trouble-shooting and improvements
  • Support Plant Cullman in all critical Paint situations

Important Individual Tasks:

  • Independent collection, preparation and analysis of paint defects using REHAU lab equipment
  • Reporting utilizing computer software
  • Maintaining current dirt library data
  • Maintain strong communication with engineering staff
  • Perform testing of new material used in Paint for possible contamination issues. Maintaining current "contamination list"
  • Performing particle count measurements and reporting on findings
  • Monitoring and managing paintline air handling filter change schedule
  • Ability to work all shifts and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or technical college degree
  • MS Office experience
  • Presentation skills
  • Minimum 3 years experience with automated paint processes

Personal Characteristics:

  • Self motivated. Work independently as well as in a team
  • Good communication skills- oral and written
