    Director of Sales - Furniture Solutions


    REHAU, a leading component supplier to the woodworking industry, is seeking an ambitious and experienced Sales Director. This home office based position covers the Midwest territory. The Director of Sales runs the Furniture Solutions profit center and is responsible for the Midwest (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North-South Dakota, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois).


    Specific responsibilities include – Director of Sales – Midwest:

    • Responsible for the planning, control and achievement of sales, cost and result targets.
    • Manages, guides, and mentors a team of sales representatives and inside sales personnel to sell defined company products.
    • Takes an active role in the selling process by directly developing Key Accounts.

    Important Individual Tasks – Director of Sales – Midwest:

    Market and Customer Related Sales Activities:    1) Personal contact with major customers and active development of key accounts 2) Provide support of the staff in sales related questions 3) Observe activities of the competition in their region 4) Networking with key decision makers in the territory.

    Personnel Management:  1) Control and supervision of sales personnel, 2) Ensure appropriate appearance and conduct of employees in accordance with company policy, 3) Sets the example for all sales personnel as it relates to both departmental leadership and discipline and professionalism in front of customers 4) Responsible for the training of new employees.

    Organizational Management: 1) Initiation of appropriate training programs 2) contract management for customer specific inventory 3) Control and monitoring of all internal, organizational procedures for the assigned staff in the Sales Office, 4) Ensuring compliance with all legal regulations, especially in the areas of work safety, plant long-distance transport and environmental protection.

    Planning and Monitoring:  As profit center responsible, the Sales Manager is responsible for achieving targets for sales, cost, results and market share. The Manager must use the CRM and management systems to direct sales personnel in their sales forecast achievement.  1) Specifying individual work programs (e.g. planning visits, handling large projects) in accordance with the market share and percentage target defined in the annual forecast 2) Discussing results with sales personnel by comparing forecasted targets and actual figures, and determining corrective measures where needed  3) Control and monitoring of the approved cost forecast. 4) Monitoring sales activity with regard to strategic accounts and reporting.

    Requirements Director of Sales – Midwest:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • 10 years of relevant sales/sales management experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • A proven track record of selling into the Woodworking Industry.
    • A proven understanding of sales management and new opportunity management via CRM systems
    • A proven track record of managing teams
    • Willingness to travel
    • Required to talk and hear
    • Required to reach with hands, stand, and walk
    • May be required to lift heavy office supplies
