Responsibilities


 Purchasing Manager


 

REHAU Incorporated, a leading international polymer manufacturer, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager at our American Regional headquarters in Leesburg, VA. The successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation skills, a passion for procurement and interest in innovative products for the polymer industry.  

 

Job responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager will include:

  • Negotiate pricing and all other elements related to supplier contract terms and conditions
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods that meet our quality, service, and price performance standards 
  • Develop strategic procurement solutions that are consistent with REHAU's objectives
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts with suppliers and/or customers
  • Create effective supplier negotiation strategies based on supplier and market analysis
  • Develop and adhere to purchasing best practices
  • Coordinate logistics related to suppliers
  • Manage a team of purchasing professionals.

 


 

 

Qualifications


                                                          Purchasing Manager


 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent level of experience
  • Five or more years of experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment 
  • Two or more years of experience managing the purchasing function in a multinational company
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers that result in cost savings 
  • A record of success in procuring material through a diverse mix of suppliers
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using SAP
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in multi-national, global operations preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
