Product Development Engineer


REHAU Construction LLC, a leading international polymer manufacturer, is seeking an ambitious, experienced Product Development Engineer for our Building Solutions Division at our regional headquarters in Leesburg, VA.  In this role, you will be responsible for project management  and engineering of developments focused on products for radiant floor heating, radiant cooling, snow and ice melt, plumbing, and fire protection projects.


Specific job responsibilities for the Product Development Engineer include:


  • Manage product developments
  • Define technical aspects for the product(s) and system(s), and engineer solutions to meet the requirements

  • Coordinate product/certification testing and release of new products

  • Manage supplier relationships

  • Develop technical information for the product(s)



Product Development Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline required
  • Minimum of three years of engineering experience preferred, including experience in product engineering and project management

  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality principles required
  • Advanced skills in CAD and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong communication, multi-tasking and teamwork skills for collaborating, presenting and reporting

  • Ability to work accurately under time pressure with multiple assignments and projects

  • Ability to work effectively with coworkers in multiple departments and at all levels of seniority

  • Willingness to travel on occasion
